To cut my hair or not cut my hair--that is the question:

To cut my hair or not cut my hair--that is the question:
Whether it’s worth it to have shorter hair
And have less hair to deal with,
Or to leave it long and flowing down my back.
To be Rapunzel or to need a hair tie-no more-
And losing the locks,
A shorter ‘do’ with less tangles to comb.
No more knots and no more hair to style is a pleasant thought-
Maybe to the point of not doing my hair at all-
Ah and there is the catch.
For if I cut my hair, I can no longer style my hair to my liking.
When I show up to the prom with my short ‘unstyled’ hair
I have to think about my decision…That’s what will make me decide
To keep my long locks and cancel my haircut.
For who would put up with the tangled hair,
The knots after a long day, the endless hairspray,
The constant shampoo purchases, the daily styling-
When I could simply cut it all off?
Who could stand to keep their long hair, to endure
Spending hundreds of dollars on hair products and hours in the morning
To get ready-but the fear of never being able to style my hair again,
Losing all freedom I have to wear a ponytail, or curl my locks,
Makes me want to cancel my haircut and enjoy my long hair.

Antigone Trial Debrief

I really enjoyed our Antigone trial. It was a lot of work to prepare for, but fun to execute. It was pretty nerve-racking once we had to actually perform, but I enjoyed it. I hope we can do more trials for other selections we read throughout the year.
As the Defense, our job was to prove that while Antigone broke Creon's law, she followed the laws of the gods. We had to show that the gods were all-powerful and that their laws were the only ones that needed adhering to. It was pretty hard though, and we had to regroup quite a few times once we heard what the prosecution was going to throw at our witnesses. Overall though, I think the jury's decision was a reflection of our performance and attempt to prove Antigone innocent.
I also found the trial difficult because we had to coordinate with all our witnesses and make sure they didn't slip up. We had to give them confidence and help them know exactly what to say when the prosecution questioned them. Our witnesses did very well. Tieresisus especially did a wonderful job as "she" acted very well and shut down the prosecution when they tried to attack.
I really enjoyed the trial and hope we will do another one very soon, maybe this time without any dress rehearsals. I would also like to do a trial that can end either way. It would be very interesting and the two sides would really have to prepare in order to determine how they want to steer the case.
